Mark grew up in the center of the universe (Des Moines) and had a splendid musical upbringing. His big break came in the 8th-grade variety show when his band performed Bob Dylan’s “Positively 4th Street” and Mark sang, played harmonica and drums (at the same time) to the awe of the crowd. His second breakthrough was when he discovered he could play along with Charlie Daniels “South’s Gonna Do It Again” or Jean Luc Ponty’s “Fight for Life” on electric violin. His third inspiration was seeing artists in concerts such as Edgar Winter, Tower of Power, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, George Harrison, Ringo, Steely Dan, Jeff Beck and others. After that, he never looked back, performing with bands such as Blue Mountain Eagle, Rainbow Trail, The Royals, Maniax, No Name Jack, Boggled Mindz and finally with the best Rockin’ Aces!
